What is the Customs Clearance process?

Customs clearance is the process of moving goods through customs before they can enter a country and it involves submitting pre-arrival import declarations which allow importers to begin the customs clearance process before goods actually arrive at customs. This process can be ver different between countries. The 4 major steps are:

    • Customs paperwork is examined by a customs officer

    • Import duties and taxes are assessed using customs paperwork
